Ghadames, an ancient trading post, close to the borders of Tunisia and Algeria, and known as the "Pearl of the Sahara" may be one the most impressive ancient cities to be found anywhere in the Sahara. It is highly recommended that anyone visiting Libya for the first time include Ghadames as part of their travel plans. To reach Ghadames, we travel through the Berber homeland, where Berber culture and language still thrive.
